About
Hi, I’m Bojan Veljanovski. I have 16+ years of experience as a software engineer, architect, and technical leader.
I’ve been writing software since 2003, when I was 14 and got my hands on VB6. I haven’t stopped since. In 2010 I turned it into a job, freelancing on web systems for hotels, clinics, and schools.
In 2013, I joined a software consultancy in Southeast Europe as its first engineer. That decision shaped the next decade. Over eleven years I worked through every role: developer, architect, tech lead, and CTO. I designed platforms for clients across the US and Europe, in access control, travel, loyalty, fleet, and healthcare. Most of those systems are still running.
Since late 2024, I’m VP of Technology and R&D Engineering Manager at another software consulting company, leading the team behind a smart wearables platform and its AI-powered integrations.
What’s driven me throughout: software that’s reliable for users, maintainable for engineers, and built to adapt as needs change. That pull led me to Domain-Driven Design, distributed systems, evolutionary architecture, and Extreme Programming. These days it also includes agentic engineering and LLM-assisted development.
Along the way, I’ve stayed close to every stage of the work: defining products, running discovery with stakeholders, evaluating technical options, building platforms, modernizing legacy systems, leading delivery, and advising teams on what to do next.
This blog is where I keep notes on things I find useful.
Outside work, I run ultramarathons. I’m a father of two.
